All, Contrary to perception here on the blog, we are still very much alive and kicking over at the Elizabeth Street Brewery. Granted, the majority of our communication is currently being done via Twitter (@ESBAle), so if you’re not on there you may have missed our past 2 open houses. One of which was this [...]

We had a great turn out last Saturday for our open house. The positive response to what we’re hoping to achieve here is fantastic. I can’t thank you all enough for your continued support. The photo below of the event was taken by Addison’s Godfather, one of my best friends, and one of the founding [...]
Although my quote could have been better (“I got married so I needed a hobby” – what was I thinking??), Doug did a great piece on us for the local paper, The Noe Valley Voice. On a quiet corner in the heart of Noe Valley is a blue building with a (not-too) secret life. In [...]

I was born in England in 1974 and became a citizen of the United States in the Summer of 2002. If one were to trace back through my family tree, one would see I have no Irish blood in me at all. Which explains that since I’ve come to this country, I’ve never felt the [...]

We had originally hoped to open this coming Sunday, March 1 but it just isn’t possible given our schedules. The good news is that we’ll be open on Saturday instead. I still haven’t decided what our brew will be but we’ll be opening around the same time (10am) and closing a little earlier this week [...]

Well, SF Beer Week begins today and I have been so sick for the past three days that I haven’t even so much as sipped a beer since the Super Bowl. That shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the many events and activities happening in the Bay Area from February 6 – February 15. Go to [...]
As I already indicated, my wife and I each have day jobs that we are committed to and the ESB is simply a brewpub in planning. As a result, we don’t have fixed “open hours” when neighbors, friends and family can stop by for a pint. This doesn’t mean we don’t open at all. Depending [...]

What’s in a name? The “Brewer” to beer link is quite obvious but “Hay” should not be overlooked either. An ancient Scottish Clan name, “Hay” boasts its own symbol (the Falcon), plant (Mistletoe), and the family motto is “Serva Jugum”, which literally translated means “Keep the Yoke”. We like to think this commitment to getting [...]
